Back in the day most fun was had at Lan parties with multiple xboxes playing a Halo2 game on a network over System Link, is this possible with Cartogropher ? or is it something that maybe coming ?

computers on the same network will require different settings/ports, base ports, you can also open 1-4 games for "split screen" or different monitors. But you'll have to set it up and set the different controller schemes to get it working properly. But it works, I haven't done it yet. So idk how well it works. But I can open 2 games on my old PC. It works and slight lag at times.

Hi Scrappy, I was kind of hoping that the developers were planning putting this mode on the Menu but it sounds like it might be beyond their abilities from what you have said, what a shame.

cheers

The games under the "Network" list are for LAN actually. We're all essentially playing on a giant virtual LAN network (which is why it becomes glitchy after too many servers show up as it was never meant to have so many). It is possible to host games and have people on the same connection join but it requires port forwarding and changing the base ports for each player. If you remove xlive.dll you're pretty much removing the mod which restores normal offline LAN.

Hi demonsako, just wondering, how did the original xbox seamlessly connect all other xboxes to a game without port forwarding and changing base ports, is it a case of getting the right software written ?

thanks
Stuart

That's only required if you want to use it with the mod. Which is why I said to delete xlive.dll (basically the mod) if you want to use offline LAN.

Hi, So in theory you could have 2 programme folders one with the xlive.dll removed for lan games and renamed accordingly, and another untouched that you can go online with ?

cheers
