Can't even log on

I just installed Halo 2 vista on my new Windows 8.1 computer. Runs fine, but it won't let me sign in because i can't download my profile, it says I can't connect to Live Service. Please help.

sidenote: I'm not too sure if this is because i installed it incorrectly or because at this moment some Xbox live services are limited.

if they are limited then yeah may be them, but also you install the latest GFWL update? GFWL UPDATE

then also could be something along the lines of ports not opened? :/ lol i have no idea but it could be live or maybe need gfwl installed

Installed it, fowarded the ports 3074 TCP/UDP, 88 UDP (quick check, these are the required ports, right?).

It still won't let me sign in. I'll check again after Live goes back up to full service.

umm yeah i think so lol

im able to sign in and everything :/ even made new gamertag and tried signing in and everything and was able to sign in perfectly :/ maybe the firewall is blocking the game? Live?

I tried both the Games for Windows Live application and Halo 2, they both give the same "cannot connect to live service" error. If it's my firewall, then I'm screwed, since apparently i can only make firewall changes through Kaspersky and I have no idea how to operate it....

1) Upgrade to the newest version
2) Enable compatibility mode in Kaspersky Antivirus

try looking at your .cfg file in the directory,

apparently people have trouble updating and stuff with the game because the titleversion is 10000382, if it is that change it to 10000481 :/ and see if that works :/
















oh and if at all possible download tinker or something that has GFWL on it and sign in with that game and it could help get halo 2 to work??????

I tried to edit it, but it wouldn't let me save it. I tried unchecking all the read only properties but it just reverts back to read only, even though i have admin.

Is your account using 2-step verification? GFWL cant sign into 2-step accounts.
