Halo 2 Project Cartographer : Suggestions

I created this thread for the suggestions of what can be interesting to add in futures updates or just to see what can be improve in Halo 2 Project Cartographer.

Those suggestions aren't facts and people have differents opinions.

Note: The Dev. Team is focus is fixing the netcode for the time being.

Rules:

1) If you have a suggestion, thank you for arguing how it would be beneficial to Halo 2 Project Cartographer.
2) Do not make the suggestions of silly things.
3) These suggestions should not alter the soul of Halo 2.
4) If you want to complain or created drama, go away.
5) I know that feminized society created Beta Mâles, but act like a man and stop being emotional for nothing.
6) I know that society now learns nothing about respect, but stop being toxic.
7) Don't post things like "it's impossible to do" or "it's difficult to do" because that means you don't understand this topic, so go away.
8) Act like an adult if you post something.
9) If you want the community of H2PC to have a bad image, go away.

I suggest adding the contents of the Blastacular Pack.

(downloadable content package for Halo 2 developed by Certain Affinity. It was released on April 17, 2007 for $4.00, and re-released as an updated package on May 7, 2007 (still for $4.00), as several glitches discovered in the included content had been fixed.).

Blastacular Pack added the following new content to Halo 2:

-Desolation

-Tombstone

Port these missing maps pack directly into the map files should be a good things because:

- These are missing maps.
- Playing on these maps would be fine for memories.
- They are remakes of Halo CE maps.
- They will be legitimate to be added to the installation or for an update of Halo 2 PC.
-More official maps in-game.

I suggest adding the Major Sentinel Beam and the Fuel Rod Cannon in the Equipment Options of Halo 2 PC.

Note: The Major Sentinel Beam is the "gun" used by the Major Sentinel (Gold Sentinel)

Port these missing weapons into the equipment options should be a good things because:

- Until today, impossibility playing with these weapons in multiplayer via Game Variants without modding.
- Until today, impossiblity playing with these weapons in multiplayer in the Random Weapons Game Variant.
- Until today, impossiblity playing with these weapons in multiplayer in the Gun-Game Game Variant.
- They will be legitimate to be added to the installation or for an update of Halo 2 PC.
- More possiblity and replayability for Halo 2 PC.

I suggest adding the indication Infinite instead of the indication of Max Ammo in the HUD when we play with the Juggernaut Game-Variant (with Infinite Ammo On).

Replace the Max Ammo indication to the Infinite indication should be a good things because:

- It's more understandable for players.
- Until today, impossibility for players to know if they have infinite ammo before firing.

I suggest adding the Game-Variant : Infection

It's the more popular Game-Variant for making custom-game. I have played it in custom servers, so why not implemented it ?

Port the Game-Variant should be a good thing because:

- It's a classic Game-Variant of the Halo franchise.
- The possibility of map making with this Game-Variant is (really) expanded.
- It's addictive, so more players will stay playing on H2PC.
- More people will be more interested about playing H2PC.
- They will be legitimate to be added to the installation or for an update of Halo 2 PC.

Note: Adding Alpha Zombie will be a better thing and adding more possibilities.

Blastacular pack exists as mediocre custom maps. Check the repo

Zombies / infection exists and it's based on slayer gametype

To be honest, unless you make these changes yourself, I wouldn't expect much at this point in time. Our focus is fixing the netcode for the time being, and we have little time even for that.

Do you even fucking realize what you're asking for in half of these fucking posts? The major sentinel beam doesn't even exist in any MP cache. Porting Xbox maps is a lot more complicated than just "oh yea just dump that shit into my map folder you slut". Adding an infection gametype to the menu is actually more effort that it is worth and would imply for other things to happen to actually not make it just slayer gametype options but named differently. Also complicates things since now we are talking about things that go further beyond just always giving weapons and switching bipeds if the gametype name is infection.

I feel you on how hard it is, but remember these are merely suggestions. You don't exactly have to complete them. It's like that crappy DLC that five bucks and you don't want to buy. Just Don't buy it.

The two maps are in the map repo for download. I have the source for two versions of each of the maps. I'll take a look at them both and see if I can replace the teleporter in one and or see what the other source looks like, possibly release them, Maybe. You can use on of the entity apps to rip the bsp from it, export in to obj, then make your own bitmaps/shaders and what ever you like for it, if you want to try porting them over.





Gametypes, when making a gametype rename and add zombies to your game variants name,
for h2x add h2x and it makes the game run like h2x, slower.

Scrapy should have both my source and compiled cache files for Desolation, which is almost an exact 1:1 of the H2X map and not that shitty one made by a dick sucking try hard, who we shall not name. Albeit some minor things like the lightmap and the glitchy scenery that only appears up close no matter what LOD you use. He is free to use them and put them up if he wants.

Narrows is also in there and can be released if he puts it up.
