Hey guys, you gotta get the recent version of Halo: Online - El Dewrito 0.5.

Its greatly improved from the previous versions, very close to old school Halo 3 gameplay!

That video is amazing. Can you explain the legality of playing halo online here in the states? I thought it was still exclusive to Russia game.

Kills, There's a new update to Eldewrito, Version 0.5.0.2 I believe.

I made a post on the UF Forums, which goes very in-depth on how to obtain 0.5.0.2 and customise Halo online (Including a few other things  )

Basically, you need to download 2 files, one which is 0.5.0.1, (~2.6 GB download) And 0.5.0.2 which is a ~45 MB download.

Yep, I downloaded the torrent last night but then I got sucked into Brutal Doom online Coop. Too much fun! Think I'll release a small add-on type of update that will make it easier for others to join in as it requites Zandronum and Doomseeker which includes this really handy app called Wadfinder that does just that.

My son and I are testing out Half-Life Sven Coop today, but we were playing H:O yesterday by running two instances of the game on a multi monitor setup, and surprisingly, we could run both run H:O in full screen mode after setting our resolution and controls. I've only got a Nvidia 750 GTX so I lowered textures to medium and a six core AMD CPU so I set the affinity two 3 cores each, last the res was set to 1280x720. Works pretty well.

Nice Kills!
Doom Coop looks soo freaking badass, i gotta get me some man!

You were able to get 2 instances of halo online running at 1280x720 medium on a GTX 750 with a Hexacore AMD CPU?
(Did you have a dual monitor setup so each instance could have its own monitor?)

Fucking Badass Shit dude.

Each monitor could support 1920x1080 max res, they are nearly identical. We have this extra LCD just sitting around so I'm like screw it lets try it. I mention it because I figure many people will have better systems then mine thus they could run at even higher settings.

So I was playing Halo: Online last night and I've played so much Halo 2 & H2v with a gamepad before that it feels strange trying to use KB/M, so I use a gamepad app called Duranzo to edit my gamepad config, then I go into Forge and select exit, from that menu I can set the gamepads trigger speed from 3 (painfully slow) to 7 or 8 (just right). I'll make a small tutorial on this for those that are interested.

Yeah I saw, I was perusing through reddit, and I was like 'Duuuude Kills?!'
Anyway, pretty goooood post on durazno, I use X360CE (Version 2.0.2.163) which allows me to rewrite XInput DLL's for Halo Online. It's really good, haven't had any problems with it (i use a Dualshock 2 controller, Its really good!)
I was debating on whether or not to use X360CE or Durazno, but I ended up using X360CE, which does the job!

When are you usually online?
Also Kills, did you know that you could mod the intro's into custom intro's, as the game read's .BIK files?
I use a mix of Bungie's Halo Combat Evolved Bungie Demo, Halo 3's Intro and the Microsoft Logo Demo (I am looking for a different one :D )
Its pretty damn cool!

And Sod, I'm glad I could help!

I was using some custom intros but I got tired of skipping them, so I set ElDewrito to skip them, which just shows a black screen for a bit.

Triple Buffering helps most people get better performance as well, enabled from the config file in H:O's root directory.

Halo oOnline in my opinion is just abysmal. Honestly I understand playing Halo 3 style gameplay and engine variant on pc is very enticing...but since there is MCC and the Halo 3 360 servers are online still...it just seems like a huge waste of time.

A used 360 costs about $60 and Halo 3 a few bucks. Id much rather play it on 360 with a full line of maps, actual Forge and a lot more friends.

HO is NEVER going to have the mod support or tools of CE or H2v. At best, the most you could hope for would be the limited items capable in console modding of the games. Not tryin to be a downer, but id rather waste my time continuing to develop content for H2, then play this.

I agree with you Twinreaper, but as of now Halo 2 is dead. There is no news regarding Project Cartographer, So as far as anyone's concerned, halo 2 is gone, unless someone picks up Project Cartographer. There also has been no news regarding the official master server list

As for H:O, there hasn't been a halo game on PC since 2007. Fast forward a couple of years, and here we are with Halo Online. Not a perfect rendition of ANY halo game, Hell, its Halo 3's Engine with Halo Reach's sprint mechanics and Halo 4 Weapons. That game is a cluster-fuck of all sorts of wrong, but its the closest thing we have to a new halo game on the platform of our choice.

Its actually based on either Halo 3: ODST or the MCC version. Halo 3 Xbox was dead a year ago when I checked it out, the MCC is a sad joke you get to pay to play (though yes its cheap), Halo: Online is where its at and I'll explain why: newer engine, massive selection of weapons, some new official vehicles, modding tools that already rival many console mods, dedicated servers are just becoming a thing, the community is growing everyday, PEOPLE ACTUALLY PLAY THIS GAME, built in and much newer gametypes, BSP importing is limited right now but if it goes past forge objects I'm down. Besides my shoddy ping; Its a lot of fun. Between this, Brutal DooM online, and SVEN Co-op I have my MP needs met, all for free.

About Halo: Online being a mish-mash of games; thats exactly what I was trying to create with Halo 2.5, a Halo that you tweak and play how you want. I'm very happy with what we have so far. I would prefer an editing kit as well but this is 100% better then the nothing they gave us before.

I might not have mentioned this, but a few years back Shawn showed me the website log files; Microsoft had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and downloaded the entirety of the H2MT, at least 30GBs. This was long before Halo: Online was a thing. Do you not see? They emulated our work. I'm proud and you should be as well Twin, I just wish we received some public acknowledgement what-so-ever.
