So I am looking to play through the halo 2 campaign, however I have no write access to system32 and dx9 is not installed. When I launch halo 2, I get the error that I am missing d3dx9_31.dll and d3dx9_43.dll. So, I went and found the .dll files it wanted, and popped them into the directory. Now I have an error saying "The app failed to start correctly (0xc000007b)." Does anyone know how I can get the game running, and if there are any extra .dll files I have to install, or an alternate way to install DirectX 9 in a folder that is not system32, and edit the game directory to reflect that? Gaining admin access is not an option, and I can't run any install setup wizard .exe files or anything else that requires authorization on the machine I want to play the game on. I have access to my own PC at home.

Never mind. After inquiring, I found I needed the 32 bit dll files, thank you all anyways! I'm always excited to find small forums like these from the pre-commercialized internet.
