Super I think you have the Zombies variant wrong?
Its supposed to be Shotgun as primary and Pistols as secondary
Pistols are on map, I believe

Fuck yes, I'm sick of starting battle rifles. Makes the game a giant headshot fest and ruins the balance on a lot of variants imo, the pacing is much different and it doesn't encourage team work. Also 1 flag no touch CTF :D

Its all about dat BR skill. If you don't have a BR you are not Halo 2-ing correctly. Unless you have a mean Carbine. Not saying other weapons don't have thier purpose, they certainly due, such as two SMGs against a Hog, or two Magnums against a Shee.

No flag touch return? Why not take all of the skill out of the game?

From what I recall ToP & Ascension are kinda picky. The issue was the turret spawning, sometimes it would, sometimes it would not. Not sure what was causing this.

If that's all the community wants to play I guess I won't be sticking around. Custom games are fun but the default variants are a blast and its a shame everyone hates them. I personally believe part of the skill is getting to the pick ups or learning to be a jack of all trades with all weapons, or dealing with what you have. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ MLG variants become a grind.

In the future, when making dedicated servers become easier
MLG/BR starts games won't be the only thing around

Which is why this post was made. Old Xbox Halo 2 variants and playlists will appear alongside the H2PC/H2Xbox MLG/BR starts based variants

The community wants to play different things. Halo 2 was well known for its competitive and casual games (Competitive moreso as it has more of a wider scope in terms of media)

The point of GunGame is for the "jack of all trades with all weapons" ;).. that's why I put GunGame in in the first place as one of my original goals for the mod not to mention I'm still working on zombies and we have tons of other game types planned and in the future with the release of v0.3 it should be even easier for other people to come up with crazy game types and stuff with our script engine we release.

Gun Game (otherwise known as Arms Race) is a Weapon Levelling game variant where players climb up ladders of weapon levels.
So GunGame makes players adapt to whatever gun they have in their possession in order to win (GunGame works amazingly well with Halo 2 weapons)

One thing I definitely miss is are the 1 flag and 1 bomb variants.

4v4s on smaller maps like Ascension, Lockout, Midship

8v8 1 flag or 1 bomb on Headlong was my favorite. Would like to see these make an appearance.

I love these variants as well, however we seem to be a minority. Whenever i put these on, people leave and no one joins :(
