Xbox One Controller Issues

Hello,

I just recently found out about Project Cartographer, and decided to give it a go using my xbox one controller. During my first couple matches, I noticed that my controller inputs would either stop working (strafe/look did not work) or the controller inputs would be messed up (jump becomes reload, melee becomes jump, etc.). It would go back to normal after a few seconds, but it was irritating to happen during a fight. Has anyone ran into this and/or can help me fix this issue?

Plug controller in before starting the game. I use xbone controller via USB. It works fine as long as it's plugged in before you start the game.
I'm going to try getting the wireless adapter, xbone USB connection sucks big time. It comes out and just stops functioning, so I have to unplug it and plug it back in lol.
