Need help playing on network mode!

Hi guys, me and my buddy want to play Halo 2 Vista at home using LAN. We're both connected to the same network, but we join eachothers games that we create (in network mode). In windows firewall we've allowed access to them, checking off the private and public marks. Just to confirm, network mode is for people on the same network right? When we attempt to join each game, we get the "cannot joint party please try again in a moment" error

Can you make it public/open?


Are you two using different keys and have they already been activated?

If so, can either of you see and join online servers?


Do you play other games over LAN?

If not, can you ping each-other?

change pcid that could help???? not sure where the pcid changer is atm but kant may know or it is in h2shark lol
