You must lead the banshee in to the tunnel slowly all the way to the room at the end of the tunnel.
Then once the banshee is in the room lead it to the small tunnel inside of the room. do not go in to the tunnel lead the banshee there having him push you a bit in to the tunnel, once you see that you and the banshee are in the smaller tunnel hijack the banshee and hope you activate the loading/next checkpoint screen.
if you did it right you will be going on to the next part of the level and will have the banshee and you can fly all over the map and then fly to the good ol' scarab gun lol
