How can I get started in creating maps for multiplayer? and how can I see them in the game?
what do i need to know What do I need to download? any advice?

start there. learn how to make a simple box with the blender tutorial. - Blender https://www.blender.org/

install map editor from halo 2 or find a back up if you dont have a dvd drive to install from the games dvd.

Making maps is easy and 123. but to make a good one takes time. there are some limitations though. but it is easy to do. have fun and hope to see a new map or two from you.
